Regional information & procedures

At Expat Center Brabant, the procedures and the provision of information is placed together to help highly skilled migrants and their families to settle in and familiarize themselves within their new living and working environment. The main purpose is to quickly feel welcome and at home.

Regional Information

Expats can obtain regional information about procedures, housing, taxation, finance & insurance, education & careers, personal & social needs, culture & leisure and much more at the Expat Center Brabant in Tilburg and Eindhoven.

Governmental Services

At Expat Center Brabant in Eindhoven, expats can obtain information as well as arrange the formal procedures regarding settlement in the Netherlands, including the municipal basic administration and residence documents. This applies to expats settling in Eindhoven, Helmond and Tilburg.

The Expat Procedures

To make use of Expat Center procedure, expats or the company they work for must be based in Eindhoven, Helmond or Tilburg. Furthermore, the employer must qualify for the highly skilled migrant regulation of the IND as a covenant holder.

Before an employee comes to the Netherlands, his/her employer must submit an application to the IND for their employees' admission and residency. If necessary, employees have to make arrangements for a visa at the Dutch Embassy in their home country. Further information on the highly skilled migrant regulation and required visas can be found on the websites of the IND and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For more information visit: www.ind.nl, www.minbuza.nl and www.expatguideholland.com

Advantages of the expat center procedure

Two birds with one Stone.

The highly skilled migrants and their families no longer need to register with the city council and the IND separately, but can obtain their municipal registration and residence permit at Expat Center Brabant in Eindhoven. Unique is the possibility for employees and their families to obtain their municipal registration of Eindhoven and Tilburg.

Completion in 4 weeks (one-stop)

It is now possible to complete both municipal registration (GBA) and residence documents (VVR) no more than four weeks after submission of the residence permit application. With the early written decision, the employee can even start working in 2.5 weeks. This takes just one visit to the Expat Center Brabant in Eindhoven.

Completion in 2 weeks (two-stop)

As an alternative, Expat Center Brabant offers the fast two-stop procedure. The highly skilled migrants will have to visit Expat Center in Eindhoven twice, but will be able to start working within 3 working days after arrival in the Netherlands.

BSN number in 3 days

Expat Center Brabant provides the employees with the BSN number within 3 days after the initial visit to Expat Center Brabant. The M46 procedure remains part of the process, but it takes place at a later stage and is no longer a cause of delay.
